About The Artist, Petrina JM Sharp
Creating beauty for your enjoyment – that’s what I do and I have the best job in the world! Helping people live happier lives from viewing or living with art is the primary passion underlying why I paint.
What can I paint for you? Here are some of the artworks I create for others
and would love to bring to life in your world:
- Art Reproductions
- Custom Murals
- Decorative Painting
- Faux Finishing
- Oil Painted Executive Portraits
- Oil Painted Family Portraits
- Original Fine Art Paintings
- 3D Multi-Media Artworks
- Whimsical Artworks
- Something else you envision?
Whether I paint your project on canvas, a wall, ceiling, floor, doorways, windows, furniture, etc – it’s all about the language of art and communicating through the fundamentals of Composition, Perspective, Tonal Values, the Natural Laws of Color, Science and Mathematics; a marriage of all these creates a visual harmonization to be shared with others.
Petrina in the Community
In addition to painting, I also enjoy helping and participating directly in the communities around me:
I volunteer with Artists For A Better World International (AFABW), which is a global network of artists who share a vision of creating a better world through aesthetics. In addition to a number of community outreach activities that this entails, I maintain responsibilities as the Compilations Editor and Producer of our annual AFABW Fine Art calendar. This represents professional and amateur artists from around the world.
Additionally, since 2002, I have been the Visual Arts Coordinator for our annual AFABW Arts Festival in Hollywood, CA, bringing artists and audience together for a mutually uplifting experience.
I support Artists for Human Rights (AFHR), which is group formed for the purpose of bringing global artists together with the common cause of raising awareness of international human rights.
Another group I support is the Citizens Commission on Human Rights International (CCHR) headquarters in Los Angeles. CCHR is a non-profit, public benefit organization dedicated to investigating and exposing psychiatric violations of human rights. It also ensures that criminal acts within the psychiatric industry are reported to the proper authorities and acted upon.
I have assisted the City of Ventura by participating in the Environmental Services – litter index surveys and various park clean ups.
I distribute The Way To Happiness booklets around my neighborhood. The Way to Happiness book outlines simple, practical and powerful guidelines for living that you can use to successfully steer your way down the road to a happy, successful life.
- For anyone who wants real life knowledge that can be applied to improve himself or herself
- For parents to use with their children
- For use in character education programs
- As a gift for a friend or family member who might be having personal difficulties.
I believe we need more art, more artists, and more community participation in our world. I constantly encourage others to express themselves in some form of art. There is "art in some form" in all of us and the challenge is to bring it out and share it with the world.
